The Merits of the Qur 'an

The Qur 'an is the Book of Allah, it is a miracle that Allah has sent down, it is uncreated. Itis the best heavenly book. It is the word of Allah – Mighty and Majestic –, the good, the most truthful of words, descended from Allah. It is the word of Allah that he sent down to Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم through Jibril, then Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم passed it on to his community, who took it then passed down from generation to generation, until Allah inherits the earth and everything in it. It reforms behaviours and improves the organisation of life. The Qur 'an is an argument for or against you. Whoever clings firmly to it has certainly grasped the strongest handle that cannot be broken, and whoever turns away from it and seeks guidance outside of it has certainly strayed from a deep misguidance. It is written in the leaflets, memorized in the breasts, recited with the tongue and listened to with the ears; devoting oneself to the Qur 'an is one of the best worships and the greatest ways to get closer to Allah. How could it not be so when each of his letters equals ten good deeds, which can be multiplied many times.

Allah has mentioned everything in the Qur 'an. It contains laws and legislations, proverbs, wisdom, exhortations, history…narratives. Whoever speaks with the Qur 'an speaks the truth, whoever judges by it judges with justice, whoever puts it into practice is rewarded, and whoever calls people to follow him is guided on the right path.
